I’ve recently been hyperfixating on mapping out interesting golf courses that I may conceivably play someday. Whether it’s for a local buddies trip or for a once-in-a-lifetime getaway that I need to start saving for now. Either way, I feel like it’s good to have a picture of what good public golf is out there. And I need to see those pins on the map to really get an idea of what is possible.
So without further ado, this is my Public Golf map. A map of courses that are publicly accessible, mostly around the U.S.
As you can see, there are different lists here. The yellow pins are pulled from Fried Egg Golf’s Course Profile page - filtering only to fully Public courses (last updated 12/17/2025).
The the blue pins represent my personally compiled list of courses I think I’d like to play. They’re informed by my own exploration & research across sources, but I’ll try to leave notes / references if I pin a course that is more significantly highlighted. As you can see they’re a little more centrally located around the midwest, since I’m based in Akron, OH.
Over time I may create other layers or add/remove courses. The idea is that I always have a reference for cool places the average person could go play.
